Day: Few patrols and reconnaissance. Isolated raids over Kent andLondon in afternoon.
Night: Night raiding stepped up, with attacks on London, Merseyside and Bristol areas.

Losses: Luftwaffe 4: Fighter Command 0

Weather: Overcast, with fog clearing slowly in Northern Europe.

Sunday the 20th of October 1940.
Day: Fighter-bomber attacks over the South East and London area. Stream tactics now less common and massed formations resumed.
Night: Very heavy night attacks (approximately 300 aircraft) made in groups on London and the Midlands.

Losses: Luftwaffe 14: Fighter Command 5.

Weather: Mainly cloudy; some mist and low cloud in Channel.

Monday the 21st of October 1940.
Day: London, West Country and Liverpool Single daylight raiders, fanning out for London, Bristol and Merseyside. A factory in Lancashire was bombed also flats an houses around London were also attacked.
Night: Despite poor night weather fairly heavy attacks maintained on London, Wolverhampton, Birmingham, Coventry, Liverpool and the South Coast radar stations.

Losses: Luftwaffe 6: Fighter Command 1

Weather: Very overcast, with fog, rain and poor visibility.

Day: Several raids headed for London are diverted due to the weather and instead they attacked convoys and other shipping.
Night: Small raids on London, Coventry and Liverpool.

Losses: Luftwaffe 10: Fighter Command 6.

Weather: Continuing overcast, with fog clearing slowly.

Wednesday the 23rd of October 1940.
Day: Reconnaissance and small raids quietest day of the battle. Very quiet day except for few raiders over London and south Midlands.
Night: London night raids reduced; Glasgow also bombed at night, and minelaying carried out in th North East waters

Losses: Luftwaffe 3: Fighter Command 0.

Weather: Overcast with low cloud and drizzle.

Day: Nuisance raids. Limited daytime raids over East Anglia and extreme SE.
Night: Mainly London and Birmingham Clear night, but attacks light, chiefly against London and Birmingham

Weather: Overcast, with haze clearing gradually by nightfall.

Night: Italian Fiat BR 20s from Belgian bases bomb Harwich at night, losing 3.

Day: Continuing attacks all day, with Southampton, London and East Anglia the main target areas. Convoy raiding heavy.
Night: At night, clearer conditions bring heavy attacks on London, Bristol and Merseyside, plus low-level attacks on East Anglia and other airfields.

Losses: Luftwaffe 12: Fighter Command 12.

Weather: Fair, but overcast during the middle of the day.

Day: The shipping and convoy attacks off Dover and in the Thames Estuary start early. Successive waves attack London in the afternoon.
Night: Widespread attacks. Night attacks continue against London and other targets over very wide area


Italy invaded Greece.

Weather: Some cloud with mist and fog over Northern France, clearing slowly.
